Police Say A Different Man Caught Near The Police Force Headquarters In Abuja Is Unlikely Suicide Bomber

A suicide bomber attacked the Police HQ in June 2011
A spokesman for the Nigerian Police, Frank Mba, told Saharareporters today that one of the two men caught near the headquarters of the police in Abuja is an unlikely suicide bomber.
Alert detectives arrested Abdusalam Salihu with a bag filled with broken bottles and water earlier today around 10:00 a.m. Nigerian time, but authorities said the suspect, who is now in custody, did not carry any explosives. He added that police authorities have no cause to tag the man a suicide attacker.
Shortly after Mr. Salihu was arrested, another man, John Akpabu, was caught with three hand grenades and 37 rounds of AK-47 live bullets at the Radio House where some Nigerian ministers had been scheduled to give a press briefing. Mr. Mba disclosed that Mr. Akpabu was taken into custody and will face interrogation.
